Thierry Henry started his career in France with Monaco, then moved to the Italian Juventus, English Arsenal, Spanish Barcelona, and now he is playing for the New York Red Bulls. It was at the English premier league club Arsenal that he really made his name, lighting up the soccer scoreboards with a record breaking 226 goals in 8 seasons for the club.

Monica Abbott is generally considered the greatest player in the history of college softball. And it was clear from her earliest years that she had the skills that would lead her to greatness.
Her high school career was incredible. She went to Salinas High School in California, where in the three seasons spent there, the softball scoreboards showed that her average was 300 or more strikeouts per season. She was the master at making elite high school batters look average in the process. In her junior season, she pitched no less than seven perfect games.

The soccer scoreboards in Liverpool will be showing Joe Cole’s name next season, as, in a surprise move, he has been transferred Liverpool from Chelsea. He has been offered wages in the region of $120,000 a week to move to the North-east club. Most pundits expected him to transfer to Arsenal or Tottenham Hotspur. Cole left his previous club Chelsea in June after he felt out of favour with the club over the course of last season. Cole is expected to wear the number seven shirt.

The Lakers long history of success stems back to the very beginning of the NBA, when the team was based in Minneapolis. Some of the greatest players in the history of the NBA have played for the Lakers. The list is impressive: Elgin Baylor, Earvin Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Jerry West, Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal, all of whom lit up the basketball scoreboards in Los Angeles.

Hedo Turkoglu's shorter than expected and particularly unsuccessful stay in Toronto looks like it will be over very soon. A deal is currently being made that would send the unhappy forward to Phoenix, and in return Toronto would get the guard Leandro Barbosa and possibly the journeyman guard Dwayne Jones.

Jake Locker from Washington and Christian Ponder from Florida State are in a dead heat for the top rating amongst quarterbacks, but they are very different prospects and possess completely different skill sets. Christian Ponder has been called more NFL ready even though he does not possess the prototypical size of a quarterback, whilst Jake Locker has fantastic physical skills, a very strong arm and is very quick. What everyone agrees on is that both these players are incredible prospects and NFL football scoreboards across the nation will be showing their name in the near future.

Diego Forlan has won the coveted Golden Boot award as he was considered by experts as being the best player of the World Cup 2010. In almost every game he played in, the soccer scoreboards showed his name, as he scored in almost every game he played in. In addition, he was one of the few players who managed to consistently control the infamously bad “Jubiliani” ball.
