Contenders For The Pfa Player Of The Year This Season

We are just a few weeks away from the finalizing of this season’s Barclays Premier League and there as yet hasn’t been much debate on who will win the PFA player of the year. A year ago the big favourite was Wayne Rooney, but as of now there is no real favorite. Here is a soccer scoerboards list of probable PFA players of the year:

Dimitar Berbatov
He was highly criticized in the last days of last season and everyone said that the £30 million contract was a waste of money. This season he has completely transformed himself from a flop to a king. He has really prospered as a player and has put in a big contribution in bringing Manchester United to the top of the table this season. The show that he has scored 19 goals in just 22 appearances and has made numerous assists.

Carlos Tevez
Tevez has been a lucky charm for Manchester City. With his presence in the team, City has a decent chance of making it to the title. He is having the best season of his life and is performing at a very high level with consistency. He has scored 18 goals and ranked five assists as well. With Tevez’s speed, skill and drive, City has their best ever chance of winning the title season.

Nani
Nani has been back in full form since last year’s season, in which his level of play was consitently inconsistent. He has been playing extremely well and is leading the assists charts with 12 to this name. This Portuguese winger has been with Manchester United since 2007 and has really found his form this season. There were huge expectations on his shoulders, as he was expected to fill the empty space left by Ronaldo’s exit. He has justified the manger’s faith in him, and now is an instrinsic part of the United set up.

Samir Nasri
Nasri has been an amazing player this season. He has be instrumental in leading Arsenal to second in the table at the time of writing. He has now justified Arsene Wenger’s decision to bring him to the Emirates. He is currently Arsenal’s top goal scorer with nine goals to his name. He was named the French Football player of the year in December 2010 and is the first Arsenal player after Thierry Henry to receive this honour.

Nemanja Vidic
Vidic was named the captain of Manchester United this season after Gary Neville retired. He has a very strong bond and understanding with Rio Ferdinand, and this is a big reason behind United’s continued success. He is considered a “perfect” defender, and one that could get into any team in the world. He has rescued United many times and recently he has shown that he can score great goals for his team too.
