Wolfpack Football Team of Woodland High School in McDonough, Georgia
- Woodland High School is the home of the Wolfpack football team
- A new scoreboard was recently added to the football field to improve the appeal of the football program
- Wolfpack football has seen mixed success in the last few seasons
The last season for the Wolfpack did not include any playoff games or championship victories, but this did not stop the sports fans from turning out in droves to cheer the team on and show their team spirit. New scoreboards can make a big difference as well, because when the facilities and equipment are modern and up to date the team plays better and the attendance is much higher. The Wolfpack football team is ranked number two hundred and twenty five in the state, and their last season included some losses as well as a number of wins. First the team played Lowndes, and they were shut out. Not one point was made by Woodland High School, and the game ended with the scoreboards reflecting zero to sixty three. They also lost the second game of the season when the Wolfpack played Worth County, eighteen to thirty five. Apparently the team got tired of losing, because they rallied and won the next four games. Woodland High School won twenty eight to twenty three against Spalding High, and they shut out Jackson completely with scoreboards showing forty to zero. Victory was also seized when the team played Rutland and Persons, and the Wolfpack won both games.
Next Woodland High School lost a game, when they played Jackson High School, and the final score was zero to twenty three. This rallied the Wolfpack to win when they faced South Atlanta High School, twenty seven to six, but this was the last win of the season for the team. They played two more games after this and lost both of them. One of these was against Eagles Landing, and the scoreboards showed a final score of twelve to twenty. The last game of the season for the Wolfpack was against Woodward Academy, and this loss was a bad one with Woodland High School being completely stopped before getting a single point. The score for this game was zero to forty one at the end. The new scoreboard has helped to improve the football games for the sports fans and visitors, and the school and football team benefit because more people come to see the Wolfpack play, and to buy souvenirs, food, and drinks. The team may not have made it to the playoffs but they do have a big following of sports fans who are extremely loyal, and attend the games no matter what recent results have been. Next season for these football players may be a lot better.
