They have made it through the qualifying competition into the group stage, but they are really desperate to get into the last eight. They thought they had lost it in Switzerland after they were defeated in the first leg, but a terrific performance in the return tie won the game for them. In this game the soccer scoreboards showed that he scored a hat-trick, and Peter said that on a personal level this game was one of the best moments in his footballing career.

In soccer scoreboards news, we look at Asrenal and England’s brightest new star. Arsene Wenger has always been devoted to the promotion of youth players, but not even he could have suspected that Jack Wilshere, a product of the Arsenal youth academy, would rise so dramatically to the top. In just a few months he has gone from a young player given the odd game in less important fixtures, to a regular starter for Arsenal, who is now considered one of the team’s best players.

Jack joined the Arsenal academy when he was just 9 years old, and 6 years later was already demonstrating success, and he became the captain of the under 16’s team. In February 2008, the soccer scoreboards showed that he made his debut for the men’s team, be it for the Arsenal reserves, before making his first appearance for the Arsenal first team as a substitute against Blackburn in late 2008.

Soccer scoreboards Italian football – Italian clubs had consistently attracted the world’s best players through the 80’s and 90’s. In these two decades, Italian clubs were extremely successful, and the best players in the world played there, such as Maradona, Platini, Ruud Gullit, Zidane, Ronaldo and Matthaus. Since 1980, The European Player of the Year Award has been won by 16 players who were playing in Italy. In contrast, only 6 winners have come from Spanish clubs, and even less – just 2, from English clubs. However, the good news for Italy stops there: the Italian legend Arrigo Sacchi stated recently that Italian football has declined significantly in the last few years, and has lost ground to the Spanish and English leagues. Success in the last decade has indeed been minimal for Italian clubs, and many purists believe that the league is not exciting.

Barcelona is almost universally considered the best team in the world right now. The way they play, the players they have at their disposal, the goals that they score: they consistently amaze on a week-by-week basis. The season before last, they won every single competition that they possibly could have won: no less than six trophies. Last season they did not quite reach these heights: the soccer scoreboards showed that they were ousted from the Champions League by a defense minded Inter Milan, but they still won three trophies.

1) Ronaldo
Christiano Ronaldo was born in Madeira, Portugal. Young Ronaldo was an extremely fast runner, and his feet move so quickly that they can stir up the ball, making defenders dizzy. Unfortunately, young Ronaldo was a little too greedy, narcissistic, and selfish.

His success on the soccer scoreboards has also spread beyond the stadium. With a sexy body and a handsome face, and a full name like Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro, his popularity went through the roof, even more so among women. Ronaldo has definitely gained celebrity status over the last few years.

2) Beckham
David Beckham is probably the most popular soccer player on the planet. Not only does he liven up soccer scoreboards, but Beckham was actually the reason that this sport became popular among women. He was born in Leytonstone, London, and is married to a former Spice Girl, Victoria Adams. Beckham played for Manchester United in 1993.

In January 2007, Beckham announced that he was leaving the team Real Madrid to go abroad to sign a 5-year contract with Los Angeles Galaxy, which is a Major League Soccer club. His debut with LA Galaxy was on July 21, 2007 in a friendly match against Chelsea.

3) Kaka
Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite is actually Kaka’s full name. He was born in the city of Brasilia. He got the nickname ‘Kaka’ because his little brother was having trouble pronouncing ‘Ricardo’ correctly, so he just called him ‘Kaka’ for short.

When Kaka and his family moved to Sao Paulo, he dreamed of becoming a tennis player. However, his fate directed him to soccer, when talent scouts from the Sao Paulo club searched him out and chose him. So, he signed his first contract at 15, and, with his Sao Paulo junior team, he ended up winning Copa de Juvenil in 2000.

After Kaka moved to Milan, he won over 20 various awards, including FIFA Player of the Year and the Ballon d’Or.

4) Gourcuff
Yoann Gourcuff’s professional career began at Rennes and lasted until he was bought by Milan in 2006. He was not provided with permanent placement during his career at San Siro, and then he was loaned to Bordeaux. Gourcuff was trained by Laurent Blanc.

Gourcuff called the former Les Bleus “the person who made me join the Bordeaux”. Laurent Blanc contacted Gourcuff and helped him find his style of play that fits him perfectly.

5) Fabregas
His full name is Francesc Fabregas Soler and he was born in Barcelona on May 4, 1987. As a child, Cesc loved playing soccer. Fortunately, his grandfather sent him directly to the Barcelona Soccer School to study and develop his talent. Cesc spent most of his time playing soccer.
Now Cesc is the pulley of the Spanish team. There are now many clubs who want to get Cesc’s great passes, even Barcelona – his previous club.

Yahoo UK has a new function that will enable fans of the Barclays Premier League around the globe to watch online highlights of the latest action on the Yahoo site. Yahoo has won the rights for seasons 2010-13, and will show short highlights of every game that is played this season. Each game will have a clip that will last around 5 minutes.

With the soccer scoreboards set to light up in the next couple of weeks, the buzz around the next premier league season has began. Who will win it? Are there going to be any surprises? Who will get the fourth spot?

Chelsea looked well set up to retain their trophy this time around. The core players of the club are still there; namely Petr Cech, Terry, Lampard and Drogba. These players rarely have let the club down in the past. Cole and Ballack have gone, but the quality midfielders Yossi Benayoun and Ramires have replaced them, and they look to be more than adequate replacements.

April 6th, 1996. San Jose vs D.C. United 1-0.
Eric Wynalda scored the only goal in the inaugural game of MLS with the soccer scoreboards showing the 88th minute. FIFA has demanded that the US Soccer Federation set up a professional league, and on this day that obligation was fulfilled. The quality of the game itself was average, but the game was presented well and there was a great build-up to it. This was an extremely important match for MLS, and it was a big success. The principal reason that this game is included in the list is that it grabbed the attention and imagination of a wide variety of people, including fans, journalists, and sponsors.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has heard the same phrase from Manchester United fans for more than 10 years now: “You gave me the best night of my life!” Off course, the supporters are referring to the best three minutes of their life, in which Solskjaer scored the shock injury time winner to lead Manchester United to European glory, with the soccer scoreboards showing 2-1 to the English team.

Messi was on the soccer scoreboards in Barcelona last season no less than 43 times, as the Argentinean genius spent the season scoring goals for fun. In one three game stretch, he scored 10 goals, and it was not only the quantity of goals he scored, but the quality of goals too that amazed. On top of that, the number of assists from him last season was incredible. Undoubtedly, he is helped by the fantastic players around him, such as Iniesta and Xavi, who read his game perfectly and are able to play his little one-twos to devastating effect. This, however, should not take away from the individual achievements of this prodigious talent.

The soccer scoreboards in Liverpool will be showing Joe Cole’s name next season, as, in a surprise move, he has been transferred Liverpool from Chelsea. He has been offered wages in the region of $120,000 a week to move to the North-east club. Most pundits expected him to transfer to Arsenal or Tottenham Hotspur. Cole left his previous club Chelsea in June after he felt out of favour with the club over the course of last season. Cole is expected to wear the number seven shirt.
