Today there are several manufacturers such as Nike, Molten Wilson, and Spalding that produce basketballs in dozens of models and designs. The main difference between this ball and its competitors is its ability to absorb moisture as players feel it helps them maintain a better grip. The best basketball ball to use when playing outdoors on asphalt courts and concrete playgrounds would be a synthetic covered ball.  Just about every company produces some variation of a synthetic ball that’s best suited for outdoor use.   Today’s synthetic basketballs can re-produce the feel of leather and other tacky surfaces.  These balls have demonstrated over time that they withstand the harsh use playing outdoors on asphalt courts can bring.  It’s no wonder that these types of basketballs are the most popular among consumers.
