Sports Illustrated conducted a survey of one hundred and eighty seven (187) major league players to find the answer to the question that every MLB fan had been pondering over: which player is the most overrated? The answers each player gave were analyzed, and after much deliberation the top 5 were announced. However, once you see the list you will see how the players were not necessarily assessing the candidates according to their level of skill. Instead it seemed they were (being girls!) assessing them on the principle of: from a scale of 1 – 10 how much do I loath this player? George Herman Ruth (Babe Ruth)

Babe Ruth was born on 6th February 1985 and is known as one of the most famous baseball players to have ever lived. He was nicknamed “The Bambino” and “The Sultan of Swat.” The baseball scoreboards showed that he hit a record of 714 home runs in just 22 seasons and played as a right fielder. Many of his records lasted for decades. From 1914-1935 he was a major American baseball league player and played with the Red Sox for 6 years during which he pitched no less than 29 scoreless innings in a World Series – an outstanding record that lasted for 43 years. In 1920, Ruth was traded to the New York Yankees for what was then a huge fee of $125,000.
