Electronic Scoreboard: Major item on every team’s wish list

Everything is examined: from uniforms to the condition of the field or stadium. As each sports team regroups for the season, they will also add their input for what they feel is needed for the success of the year. On the top of the list is the electronic scoreboard.

It is now common place to attend any game and see a scoreboard. Every team, whether indoor, outdoor, home or away is very aware of the affect a scoreboard can have on the game. In today’s competitive arena, a sports team has to market themselves in the same branding of excellence as any other product. There are too many high quality media sources to offer alternatives to attendance and support, and the team needs a good electronic scoreboard to bring the fans in.

Every school team player is completely aware of the importance of a quality scoreboard. It is part of the game and brings the fans into an interactive mode. Attendees of any game look to the scoreboard for updates as well as general information and sponsorship.

A volleyball team may often play both home and away games and will need a high quality portable electronic scoreboard. In some areas, they may even plan on beach areas. The scoreboard needs to be durable with clear sharp colors and easy to change information.

Basketball is typically an indoor sport, so a home team will want a permanent scoreboard that is interactive and quickly displays the colors and information for both home and competitive teams.

Football is an outdoor sport and an electronic scoreboard should be posted for view for everyone. There should be crystal clear views, with immediate updates and in a large enough presentation that the fans know each touchdown made within nanoseconds of the score.

Since sponsorship is a major portion of the support and revenue stream of any team, both permanent and portable need to have sponsor areas. Volunteers for the school teams participate in bringing in local sponsors and the scoreboard promises that the local business will have their logo and message displayed.

In tough economic times, school budgets are tight and there is often a situation where the Sports Director has to choose between care of the field or stadium and an electronic scoreboard. When these choices are given to the school athletic teams, they usually rally together. The team members and families know how important a quality scoreboard is, so they will often begin community programs and events to raise money for a new scoreboard. Their teams and the fans that attend their games use today’s scoreboards as more than just a method to view a point made; it is now a part of the game and will often play a major role in the success of the team.

Getting the electronic scoreboard as part of the team wish list is a top priority.
