The history of many areas of South Carolina includes the fact that the advancement of the railroad played a major role in creating some of today’s towns and communities. There is a small and beautiful town called Ridgeland, SC that owes its origins to accepting the railroad for the advancement of their town. In the midst of this lush southern area, the Thomas Heyward Academy was founded. A small private school, they pride themselves on learning through hard work and good sportsmanship. The key sports focus for this school is basketball, with a better selection of players and teams than many of the larger schools.

If you find yourself in South Carolina, you will always be overtaken by the beauty and charm of the state. From agriculture to the friendly nature of the residents, there is a sense of history and pride everywhere you venture. South Carolina is as American as it comes, and they are also very focused on the sport of baseball. The town of Saluda, SC is one place where baseball is a priority. The Saluda High School Tigers, in their famous purple and white colors, are loved and supported by the entire community.

The first thing you notice when you visit Moncks Corner South Carolina is the beauty of the area. The center of the town is focused on the historic train depot. A legendary vision of the past, preserved for everyone to see today. The second thing you notice is the intensity of the people of the area for the Berkeley High School Basketball team. Don’t let this peaceful looking town fool you, the basketball scoreboards at the games tell the story. You might have to get to the game earlier than planned, because every seat in the place is taken.
