Southern Pines Adds Electronic Scoreboard for Excellence in Horse Racing
If you are an equestrian, then you have heard of Southern Pines in North Carolina. They take pride in excellence and have been an established multi-discipline premier equine competition venue. Each year they add something new and exciting and the addition of the electronic scoreboard added just the pizzazz that the fans were looking for.
The beauty of the 250 acres that is often called the ‘field of dreams’ in Hoke County, North Carolina. Surrounded by soft long needle pine trees and gently rolling hills, Southern Pines is home to a number of equestrian competitions and shows as well as dog shows, county festivals, Boy Scout meetings and cross country runs. In a nutshell, everyone loves Southern Pines, simply because it is so beautiful. The location itself is a preservation of everything that represents North Carolina, and the people of the area support the many activities through attendance and sponsorship.
Southern Pines CDE has had the distinct honor to act as host to the USEF National Championship for Single Horses. This competition welcomes some of the best in America (many of those are right there in Hoke County). The construction of an additional (eighth) obstacle has been accomplished for the championship and the world renowned designer, Richard Nicoll, will be available to flag obstacles and design the cones course.
The addition of an electronics scoreboard last year has added an extra level of excitement for both the horse championships and the other events that are held at Southern Pines. This new scoreboard follows the philosophy and motto of Southern Pines: Elegance, tradition, courage, excitement, speed, precision. Southern Pines values both spectators as well as sponsors and makes sure that every event has an incredible array of premium as well as bleacher seating so that everyone can see each moment of the competition. Sponsors have available signage on the scoreboard and they also always set aside a sponsor tent that is never far from the action of the day.
The area is famous for some of the best horses in the country. Just taking a drive through Hoke County is a visual tour of the pride that the area takes in the equestrian values. Just outside of Fayetteville, the number of stables as well as ranches devoted to the equestrian way of life is simply breathtaking. The communities in the area are a moment in time. The kind of towns that you wish you had grown up in; with fresh farm markets, churches dotted along the scenic roadsides and a friendliness that is purely southern hospitality and charm.
Each year, Southern Pines has an incredible line up of events that keep the staff and volunteers busy. The website is constantly updated with the latest news and it is never a surprise as to the latest addition of their venue. Whether you are a follower of equestrian competitions or just want to attend the local fair, everyone shows up at Southern Pines. If you are ever in the area, this is a must stop by and visit location.
