Electro-Mech Scoreboard Company Deepens Partnership with SignCoEDS

Electro-Mech, a scoreboard manufacturer with facilities in Wrigtsville, Georgia, announced today a set of product development and resource sharing plans that deepens their relationship with SignCoEDS, a Nebraska-based sign manufacturer and service provider specializing in the sports market. The plans include designing a series of Electronic Team Name (ETN) displays for use in Electro-Mech’s high-end scoreboard products.

John Stapleton, engineering manager for SingCoEDS, commented on the fit of the technologies between the two companies saying, “Their strength lies in building simple, sturdy displays that show numbers. Our strength is geared toward more complicated graphics and text displays. This project called for a merging of the two approaches. Having my staff at SignCoEDS work with the Electro-Mech engineering staff has resulted in a lot of great ideas, shared knowledge, and learning for all of us.”

Jon Martin, direct sales manager for Electro-Mech, said, “As we’ve worked with SignCoEDS over the past few years on scoreboard video projects, I’ve developed a tremendous respect for their technical expertise. In addition to the Electronic Team Names, I’m looking forward to continuing to grow our share of the upscale scoreboard market that includes graphical displays and full blown video systems. There is no company better equipped than SignCoEDS to provide the right hardware, software, and support after the sale that you have to guarantee a customer if you are going to ask them to commit the kind of dollar and time investment associated with stadium video and other high end sports packages.”

Jeff Crandon, head of business development at SignCoEDS, agreed with Martin adding, “This is a fantastic partnership for both companies. As SignCoEDS has grown, we’ve been able to provide almost every sort of signage within the sports market except for the scoreboards themselves. Electro-Mech has been doing that for over 40 years, but had never branched out into scoring tables, large scale video displays, and other types of equipment. Together we are able to offer the total package.”

SignCoEDS, a division of IMSCORP, specializes in advertising signage solutions for the sports market. Electro-Mech is a privately held manufacturing company that has quietly been producing sports’ finest scoreboards since 1963.
