The NBA’S top 2 guards

The Nba’s Top 2 Two Guards

In a feature, I have compared the best 2 guards in the NBA: Kobe and Dwane Wade.

Shooting guard is arguably the most difficult playing position in basketball. Unarguably, Michael Jordan was the best shooting guard ever. In a basketball scoreboards feature, I have taken a look at the top 2 current guards:

Kobe Bryant

Kobe Bryant is one of the best shooting guards in the NBA today. He really is the complete player. His abilities as a shooting guard are tremendous and they have helped him score in the game. His scoring capabilities have earned him the record of being the only player after Wilt Chamberlein to score the most points in a single game. In 2006, the basketball scoreboards showed that he scored 81 points against the Raptors. It was largely due to Bryant’s skills that the Lakers were able to win the championships in 2009 and 2010. Currently he is the leading scorer in the history of the Lakers.

At the end of the 2009-2010 regular season his stats were; 25.3 points per game, 5.3 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 1.5 steals. He is a prolific scorer and an outstanding three-point shooter. His wide array of moves has helped him to emerge as one of those most undefendable attackers ever to have played the game. His best moves include his turnaround jump shot and fade away jump shot. Apart from his shooting capabilities, Bryant is an outstanding defender as well. He has won a handful of awards including the MVP player of the year in 2008.

Dwyane Wade

Many experts thought that the inclusion of LeBron James in the side would hurt Dwayne Wade’s performance, however it didn’t. His stats did suffer at the beginning of the season but now he is performing as per everybody’s expectations. He is one of the quickest and most difficult players and can give any team a hard time. He is an outstanding scorer. He has been hit by many knee injuries mainly due to his ability to put away difficult lay-ups, which leads to mid-air collisions with large defenders.

Dwyane Wade has been nicknamed as flash due to his speed. His best moves are his turnaround jump shot and double pivot. Wade has the great ability to pass through big players and earn foul shots. His stats at the end of the 2009-2010 season were 26.6 points per game, 6.5 assists, 4.8 rebounds and 1.8 steals. One of the few weaknesses in his game is his three-point shooting ability. As per the recent season’s stats, Wade appears to be better than Bryant, though it is a really tough choice to decide who is the best.
