The NBA’s best players – Half Way Through the Season

The Nba’s Best Players - Half Way Through The Season

We are just over the halfway mark of the current NBA season, and as ever there have been some brilliant performances. Some newcomers have made their place in the team their own by putting in consistent performances at a high level, others have not performed as well as expected and have been a big dissapointment, whilst there is the old guard of top players who continue to be on top of their game.

Here is a basketball scoreboardslist of players who I regard have made the most waves in the first half of the season:

Kevin Love
Love plays for The Minnesota Timberwolves. He is a power forward and has emerged as one of the best rebounders in the NBA this season. In a game against the New York Knicks, Love became only the 19th player to record a 30-30, 30 points and 30 rebounds in a single game. He has a career high of 31 rebounds which is a Timberwolves record. He is the only player after Charles Barkley’s 33 rebounds to score 31 rebounds. Love is a not a single dimensional player: he has developed himself as player who can score down low as well. As yet, however, he lacks a consistent outside shot and defense. In the current season up till now, the show that his average stats per game are; 21.4 points, 15.6 rebounds and .3 blocks.

Kobe Bryant
Kobe Bryant has been the driving force for the Lakers again this season. He is known for his phenonemal scoring capabilites, although this season he has developed his game further to fit in with his team’s needs. He has team mates like Pau Gasol, Lamar Odom and Shannon Brown who can also score for the team when needed. His stats up till now for the current season average 24.9 points, 5 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game.

Dwyane Wade
Wade is the production machine for Miami Heat. He was struck by a hamstring injury at the start of the season but now he is back and is scoring well for his team. Wade is the essential player for Heat. When he’s on fire there’s nothing that can stop Heat from winning. Wade has great shooting guards and with the inclusion of LeBron James in the team, Heat is on a roll this season. For the current season so far, Wade’s stats average 25.1 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.2 assists per game.

LeBron James
With all the controversies surrounding James this season it cannot be denied that he is still one of the very top players. Having another star, Wade, in the team has created a deadly combination for the Heat. His current stats per game average at 25.9 points, 7.2 assists and 7.2 rebounds.
