Here is a list of some of the great injury prone players, some of them who have bounced back from their injuries, and some who never fully recovered.

1.Amare Stoudemire
The basketball scoreboards showed that he was initially drafted by the Phonenix Suns in 2002 and still plays with the same team. He was perfectly fine until 2005, when he played only three games as he had to undergo micro fracture knee surgery. In 2009 he had problems returning to the court due to a detached retina. He had to undergo many hours of rehabilitation before returning to the game. Stoudemir is a fighter and has overcome many injuries to reach the level he is playing at now.

2.Yao Ming
Ming was drafted initially by Houston Rockets in 2002. The first three seasons of his career were injury free and the best for him. He was playing at a the highest level and was a huge NBA star until injuries struck him in 2005. Since then he has had a hairline fracture in his left foot, a broken right knee and a stress fracture in his left foot. His left foot has been operated on twice which leaves his return in question. When he played before his injuries began he was the 2nd best center in the NBA. It is hoped that he will recover fully and will start playing again at an all time high level.

3.Grant Hill
Grant Hill was drafted in 1994 by the Detroit Pistons. He played and performed at a very high level for 6 years, and people called him the new Michael Jordan and the new face of the NBA. And he really was that good a player! Unfortunately he was caught up in a series of injuries for the following six years. He was then traded to Orlando Magic. During these six years he played very few matches for the team. He suffered from serious injuries and everyone thought he would give up and retire. Currently he plays for Phoenix Suns and does well for the team, but unfortunately his potential was never realized.

4.Zydrunas Ilgaukas
He was drafted in 1996 by the Cleveland Cavaliers. He missed the whole season in which he got drafted because of a broken bone in his right foot. Over the next few seasons he missed many games due to foot injuries . Everyone said that he would retire due to the accumulation of injuries, however, for sure he made the right decision to carry on playing, as he went on to become the all time leader in Cleveland in games played, rebounds and blocks. Currently he plays for Miami Heat and with the great form he is, and the players surrounding him, in he will surely win a championship with the team.
