This season has seem some established players reach the peak of their careers, and some newbies come in and take the league by storm. In a feature, I have taken a look at the 4 most amazing power forwards in the NBA today.

4 – Blake Griffin
Although only in his rookie season, this young boy has amazed everyone with his natural skills and abilities. The basketball scoreboards showed that he was drafted in 2009 by the Los Angeles Clippers, but just a day before the 2009-2010 season started, it was confirmed that Griffin had suffered a stress fracture in his left knee and would miss seven weeks of play. After this lay-off, the test results showed that he was not recovering properly, and he ended up missing the entire season. Things have taken a big turn for him this season though, and he has surely established his future with the LA Clippers. He is having the best rookie season ever and is scoring an average of 22.5 and rebounding with an average of 12.4. This puts him in third place among the power forwards. Such stats have never been achieved by a rookie!

3 – Pau Gasol
Gasol has worked really hard since he joined the LA Lakers in 2008. With Bryant beside him he has upped his game and now is one of the greats. Today he is a key player for the Lakers and excels at every aspect of the power forward position. He is averaging 18.6 points and 10.4 rebounds and is looking to win a sixth title for his team.

2 – Dirk Nowitzki
The German is the best player for the Dallas Mavericks. Now in the prime of his career, he has a decent chance at winning the Most Valuable player of the year award. He is scoring an average of 23 points per game and in the last decade, he has led his team to ten consecutive playoffs. He has a great deal of awards to his name and is considered as one of the very best shooters in the game. A legend of his time, he has really shown what European players are capable of!

1 – Kevin Love
Putting him ahead of Dirk was a difficult decision. The only thing that separates the two of them is their stats. Love has all the great qualities of a power forward and holds a streak of 53 doubles-doubles. He is rebounding at an average of 15.8 and he has performed consistently well all season.
