In 2008 Dwight Howard won the slam dunk contest over the competition with an incredible Superman inspired dunk. The three point shooting contest was won by Jason Kapono of the Toronto Raptors who hit 51% of the shots he took to take home the trophy. The individual skills competition was one by Deron Williams of the Utah Jazz while the San Antonio Spurs took home the win for best team shooting.

This game features the top high school players in the country who square off against each other in an exhibition game at the end of the season. The players are divided into East and West depending on the region they’re from. Most of these players go on to successful college careers and some even make it to the NBA. There have been rare cases where a player’s talent is so great they make the jump from High School to the NBA. Lebron James, Dwight Howard, and Kevin Garnett are three players that accomplished this amazing feat. The 2008 game was extremely competitive with the East beating the West 107 – 102.
